Our Services: For Brokers, Consultants, & TPA's
With health plan costs surging, direct
provider contracting is a valuable strategy for brokers, consultants,
and third party administrators (TPAs) to recommend to clients for
reducing costs and improving service. As the leader in direct
contracting, A.J. Lester & Associates works with brokers,
consultants and TPAs to develop direct networks in locations where
traditional PPO networks are simply not fulfilling the clients’
needs for access, savings, or service. By involving A.J. Lester &
Associates in the process of helping their clients, brokers,
consultants, and TPAs can solidify their client relationships by
giving clients what they need, while defending against those who
would seek to take the business away with promises of better
networks, greater savings, and so on.
If you have a current self-insured client that you think would
be a good candidate for direct contracting or a company that you
would like to introduce to the concept, we can help. Please fill
out and submit the form below. We will contact you within three
business days. We will not contact the client directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why use A.J. Lester & Associates?
Why not handle direct contracting ourselves?
A.J. Lester has spent the past ten years developing direct
contracting strategies, methodologies, legal documents, reimbursement
schedules, communication materials, network maintenance techniques,
and a myriad of other tools necessary for successful contracting.
We’ve negotiated tens of thousands of provider agreements
and have refined direct contracting into a highly effective and
predictable process. By recommending A.J. Lester & Associates
as an outside resource to clients, brokers, consultants, and TPAs
also avoid the perceived conflict of interest with existing PPO
relationships. Back >
What is A.J. Lester & Associates’
relationship to the broker, consultant, or TPA in regard to the
client?
We are generally introduced to the client by the broker,
consultant, or TPA as an outside expert in the field of direct contracting.
While we are paid directly by the client for developing the provider
networks, we maintain an interface with the broker, consultant,
or TPA to make certain the needs of all parties are being represented.

Does A.J. Lester & Associates remunerate
brokers, consultants, or TPAs for providing services to their clients?
No. The direct contracting services we provide to clients
of brokers, consultants, and TPAs have inherent value in terms of
improving a client’s benefits plan and, ultimately, strengthening
the relationship between the client and the broker, consultant,
or TPA. A happier client, whose network needs are being fully met,
is also easier to defend against competing brokers, consultants,
TPAs, or managed care companies seeking to take over the client.
